The Tower Hotel was designed by the Renton Howard Wood Partnership and opened in September 1973.
The riverside access has been improved for commuter and tourist traffic. The entrance to the docks is just beyond the hotel.
The hotel has been modernised and upgraded and is now a Guoman Hotel.In the foreground is one of the latest river commuter catamrans which travel from Greenwich upriver to Charing Cross.
The remains of the Telford warehouses are to the right, the trade centre to the left and beyond the restored Ivory House.
The Telford warehouses having been destroyed by fire were rebuilt using the original metal pillars. Ivory house can be seen on the other side of the basin and the World Trade centre is to the left.
The trade centre has been replaced recently by the new office block, Tower Bridge House, on the left with restaurants and bars beneath serving both local businesses and tourists.
The original sailing barges are moored alongside Telford Warehouses awaiting redevlopment.
The Telford warehouses rebuilt using the original metal pillars have become “International House” a modern office and gallery space.

Ivory House which used to store valuable cargoes from the east has become luxury flats for the famous, restaurants, shops and and entertainment venue. The original mechanical Telford bridge is still in use to cross the channel.

In 2018 the original mechanical Telford bridge stands on the dock alongside the new electric bridge giving access from Dicken’s Inn to Ivory House whose luxury apartments are now occupied by celebrities and business folk from around the world.
St Katharine's yacht haven packed with many small boats and about to see the construction of blocks of residential apartments.
The apartments have been finshed and occupied St Katharine's yacht haven is home to boat owners and city workers.
The yacht haven has become a marina and continues to expand with the City Quay residential development around the dock, the central large block of Quadrant House towering above has a grand Waitrose beneath.

The old warehouse is now a fully functioning pub, the Dickens Inn, and the yacht haven has been developed and is now very busy and almost fully occupied.

After the world war bomb damage the reconstruction has started on this site looking west toward the Tower Hotel and St. Katharine dock warehouses. Some of the original warehouse pillars are visible.
From the blocks of flats erected the current view over St. Katharine dock as renewal continues and the marina expands.
After getting access to the roof of the Tower Hotel I took this image showing the layout of St.Katharine’s docks and in the distance to the East the remains of the old London Dock and Pennington Street.
Unfortunately I couldn't get access to the roof of the Tower hotel on this visit but the new developments are plainly visible to the east where London Dock stood.
